On Friday, April 11th, 2025, the Jamaican Association of Manitoba Inc. hosted its much-anticipated Family Night—and what a beautiful success it turned out to be! Over 60 attendees flowed through our doors throughout the evening, reconnecting with friends, meeting new faces, and celebrating the heart of our community.
The atmosphere was electric—music filled the air, children played happily with games and activities, and adults enjoyed the ever-popular dominoes while mingling with familiar and new faces alike. The event wasn’t just about fun; it was about community building, and it certainly delivered.
We’re proud to share that over 50 attendees expressed serious interest in becoming members of JAM—a powerful sign that our mission and momentum are resonating deeply.
This incredible evening wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and vision of Amanda, our 2nd Vice President and head of Social & Fundraising. Amanda thoughtfully curated the menu, organized the games and décor, and coordinated with local businesses to help support the event. Her leadership and her team's hard work brought Family Night to life in the most meaningful way.
We are also extremely grateful to the following generous sponsors for their contributions:
🥖 Garth Waite of Donut House, who donated fresh buns for our sandwiches
🍲 Caribbean Party Restaurant, who provided a delicious, hearty soup at cost
🍰 Iris, who donated an array of desserts that everyone enjoyed
The outpouring of positive feedback warmed our hearts. Many guests shared how much they enjoyed seeing young people present and involved, and how much they’re looking forward to the next event.
At JAM, we believe in the power of togetherness, and this Family Night was a shining example of what happens when community leads the way.
Stay connected, because more uplifting, vibrant, and inclusive events are on the horizon.
Thank you again to everyone who attended, supported, volunteered, and helped spread the word. This is just the beginning.
